REV's Newest Barre Babes: Amanda, Erin and Rachel
Posted on April 19, 2024 in REV Community

Meet our newest Barre Babes Amanda, Erin and Rachel! They have been training for weeks and are now ready for their community classes! We sat down with them to ask our new instructor questions, so before you hop into one of their classes, read on and make sure to welcome these ladies into our tribe!

Where are you from and where did you grow up?

Amanda: As a military brat I moved all over while growing up, including 3 years in Germany. I was born in Fort Knox, KY but call Maryland my home! I’ve lived in Baltimore for almost 10 years.

Erin: I was born in Ohio but spent the first six years of my life moving around quite a bit. My family settled down just outside of Philadelphia the week I started Kindergarten so I will always consider Philly my home.

Rachel: I grew up in Avon, Connecticut and moved down to Baltimore to go to Loyola University Maryland. I have been in Baltimore ever since!

Where and when did you first realize exercise would be a big part of your life?

Amanda: I’ve always played sports so physical fitness has always been a part of my life. After becoming a mom, exercise was a way to have some “me” time. I felt healthier and happier which was reflected in everything else I did. Exercise makes me a better me so I try to get as much of it as I can.

Erin: I grew up playing every sport possible. From lacrosse to field hockey, golf, swimming, and tennis, I loved it all! I earned a scholarship to play Division I tennis at Drexel University. After graduating, I knew I had to find ways to continue to stay active. That is when I took my very first barre class!

Rachel: I grew up dancing, running and swimming. Exercise was always a huge part of my life, but as I grew older, I realized how much I needed exercise to relieve stress and to just carve out time in my day for myself!

When you are not teaching at REV, what would you most likely be doing?

Amanda: I am a personal trainer at the Under Armour Performance Center doing individual and group training. When I’m not working, I'm with my 2 daughters Blake, 7 and Maddox, 3. Most likely we’re heading to and from all the activities they participate in.

Erin: Most likely I am on my couch watching reality TV! On the weekends you can find me hanging out with friends, watching college football and exploring new areas in the city. I moved to Baltimore 6 months ago so I am still discovering all the fun and exciting things to do around the city. Suggestions welcome!

Rachel: When I’m not at REV, you’ll find me teaching my first grade students, drinking lots of coffee, going for a run, or spending time with friends and family.

If you could choose one song that best describes you, what would it be?

Amanda: I’m Bossy- Kelis

Erin: My favorite song in the entire world is "Home" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. It always puts a smile on my face. But if I had to choose one song to describe my personality, it would be "Spice Up Your Life" by the Spice Girls!

Rachel: Humble and Kind by Tim McGraw

What is one thing that someone would be surprised to know about you?

Amanda: I went to Australia for 3 weeks to play lacrosse while in college.

Erin: After graduating from college, I was accepted to law school and fully planned to pursue a career as a lawyer. A week before school was supposed to start, I had a complete change of heart. I packed my bags and moved to Portland, Oregon, where I got my Master's degree in Sports Product Management at the University of Oregon. I now work on the Men's Training team at Under Armour!

Rachel: I’m incredibly gullible! I also used to be a ski instructor.

What is the first thing you do when you wake up?

Amanda: Think about going back to sleep.....No, I take a minute to think about everything on my plate for that day, take a deep breath and then get going.

Erin: Spin class! I (almost) always start my day with a workout. I am definitely a morning person, so waking up early doesn't bother me. I tend to be the most productive before noon.

Rachel: Resist the urge to hit the snooze button! I’m so much more awake if I start my day with a work out.

What part about joining our REV Tribe most excites you?

Amanda: I’m excited to be a part of an energetic and amazing group of not only instructors but also clients who share a passion for exercise and a goal to better themselves!

Erin: Motivating all the amazing REV members to get outside of their comfort zones. As a client for the last 6 months, I have been so inspired by the instructors at REV and now I get to be a part of it all! I cannot wait to share my passion for barre and put my own spin on things!

Rachel: I have been coming to REV as a client for the past few years and no matter what class I try in the Baltimore area, I can’t quite find the energy and community atmosphere that REV has. I am so excited to be apart of that and to teach among instructors I have admired for a long time!

Welcome to the tribe ladies! We are so excited for your first classes!
