How to Stay Motivated in 4 Easy Steps
Posted on November 19, 2017 in REV Wellness

Hey REVers!

As the weather starts to get a little cooler, it’s a great time to set new goals for yourself. What do you want to accomplish in these next few weeks?  What changes would you like to make in your own life? These are the questions you want to be asking yourself because at REV we are all about the process becoming our best selves. And that process truly never ends. When you need a little lift, here are a few tips to keep you motivated and keep on with the process of becoming your best self.

1. Buddy Systems

The #1 most effective way to stay motivated: PEOPLE AROUND YOU! Whether they are inspiring you or you are inspiring them, human interaction is an incredible gift. A support system of friends, family, and community is crucial. Some days you may need an extra push, and the buddy system is the best way to get that. So take advantage of REV’s referral program, it pays you! At REV, we push each other to be better, always lifting each other to our highest potentials. So grab a buddy and hold each other accountable.

2. Keep your gym bag in your car

You know that trick of going to bed in your gym clothes so that you can wake up and get in that early morning workout? Well, this is kind of like that - keep your gym bag in your car so that you don't have to go home before a workout. It’s all about preparation and figuring out the most efficient way to motivate yourself to get there.

3. Schedule your classes ahead of time

Motivation feeds off of accountability, so keep yourself motivated by holding yourself accountable. You can do this by scheduling your classes as soon as registration opens: 12:30pm on Sunday before the week starts! This way you know exactly when you’ve set time aside for yourself, and you can plan all secondary things around “you time.” By scheduling your classes ahead of time, you are prioritizing yourself before anything else gets in the way. It also ensures you get a spot in classes that fill up fast! Commit and do it.

4. Remember your WHY

We all have those days - shitty day at work, stressful time at home, late night and you just don’t want to wake up to that early morning alarm. These moments are exactly what make you who you are - before you make any decisions, take a second to notice these conflicting thoughts and then think… why did you want to take this class? Now, why are you having second thoughts? If you take a brief moment to pause, breathe, and think, you will remember your why to get you through any form of self-doubt. Why did I sign up for 6:00am? Because I wanted to get my workout in and start my day off with a bang. Respond to those moments with your head high and shoulders back - we guarantee that you will thank yourself later.
