Nightmare at REV Challenge Rules

Can you survive the nightmare?

You can spin and tuck, but you can't hide! Nightmare at REV Week is coming October 23-27th and we challenge you to 5 classes in 5 days (at least one class per day) in the barre or spin room, or both. Each day also comes with a different blood curdling theme. Get Poe's Tell Tale Hurt with Esther, 100 Tucks with Janet, and finish it off Resting in Pain with Sean. This is definitely a challenge that will get your heart pumping.

Your Reward

Take 1 or more spin or barre classes on each of the 5 days during the challenge week and receive an official "I Survived 'Nightmare at REV' Week" T-shirt.

Nightmare at REV Theme Classes

Monday: Blood, Sweat, & Gears

Cycle: Climb Ride. That's right, the entire class is a climb! Start on a hill for your warm-up and end at the very top of your mountain in 45 minutes. Grab your bike and start this challenge on a high gear!

Barre: Balls of Steel. Time to get really close to those weighted balls. 45-minutes of barre and using the yellow balls for every move. Grab a ball and start the challenge strong.

Tuesday: Tell Tale Hurt

Cycle: Endurance Ride. It’s time to build some endurance for those longer rides. This class is focused on keeping the heart rate high at 85% the entire class. Know it will hurt, but do it anyway. Zero f*cks.

Barre: 100 Tuck Tuesday. Tuck yourself silly! By the time you leave this class you will feel the hurt and ready to say, “Go tuck yourself”.

Wednesday: Day of the Dead

Cycle: Intervals Ride. Blast your body with intervals and slowly build up the resistance with each interval. You’ve trained for this, but you’ve never experienced it quite like this before. It’s day of the dead, be of ready to feel like a zombie when you walk out!

Barre: To Plank or Not to Plank. Easy answer, we will be planking all day, every day! Get ready to feel like you can’t hold it for one more second and then reach down deep and hold it! Our instructors will have you planking at every turn of this class.

Thursday: Descent Into Madness

Cycle: Descent Ride. This class will start you out at the very top of the mountain (high resistance) and you will work your way down slowly for the entire class. Learn how to ride on an incline and sprint down a mountain, it may sound like any easy ride, but we promise it will bring the fire to your legs and lungs! When do we reach a flat road? We will save that for the cool down.

Barre: 3 Pound Thursday. Time to up the ante on those weights! We challenge you to go for total burnout and grab those 3 pounders whenever possible. Show us what you’re made of!

Friday: RIPain

Cycle: No Recovery. That means no water, no towel breaks, no time to slow down in this class! We will leave you resting in pain for your final day of the challenge, because this is a NIGHTMARE not a daydream! Let’s leave it all on the spin room floor together. One team. One heart. One tribe.

Barre: Chaturanga Challenge. It’s time to get your chaturanga on and work those triceps. 6AM will bring the heat like never before and leave you feeling invigorated as you close out this challenge feeling like a total zen badass!

NIGHTMARE AT REV Q&A

WHEN CAN I REGISTER?

Registration opens on Sunday, October 1st here. Be on the lookout for an announcement in the next newsletter and on social media. Please note registration closes on Friday, October 20th at 11:59PM. You must register to have the opportunity to win a t-shirt.

WILL CLASSES COUNT AT EITHER STUDIO (MCHENRY ROW OR BREWERS HILL)?

Yes!  The challenge requires one class per day, 5 days in a row. It does not matter which location/studio, time, or instructor you take class from. As long as you are there for the entire class, it will be counted as a class toward the challenge.

WHAT IF I AM UNABLE TO TAKE ONE OF THE SPECIFIC ‘NIGHTMARE AT REV’ THEME CLASSES?

No worries. We came up with these special theme classes to make the challenge a little more fun and a little more challenging, but we know not everyone will be able to make them and there is limited space available. As long as you can get to another class on that day, you will get your class for that day.

CAN I DO A MIX OF SPIN AND BARRE CLASSES THROUGHOUT THE CHALLENGE WEEK?

Absolutely! We love this idea. Mix in some Barre or even give our new BARRECardio class a try! As long as you take at least one class per day you will be hitting the guidelines of this challenge.

IF I CAN’T COME TO ANY CLASSES ON THURSDAY CAN I DOUBLE UP ON WEDNESDAY TO COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE?

Unfortunately not.  The spirit of the challenge is to commit to coming into the studio at least once every day for one week.

IF I COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE, WHEN WILL I GET MY T-SHIRT?

T-shirts will take about 4 weeks to come in and can be picked up at the studio you designated as your “primary studio” when you registered. Once you designate a studio, we can’t make changes. We will alert you by email when they have arrived.

The “primary studio” only pertains to where you will pick up your t-shirt. It does not affect that class count as you can take classes from either studio to complete the challenge.

IF I SUBMITTED THE WRONG T-SHIRT SIZE, CAN I CHANGE IT?

Unfortunately not.  We can’t take any size changes due to the ordering process.

IF I DECIDE TO PARTICIPATE AFTER THE SIGNUP DEADLINE, CAN I GET A T-SHIRT?

Unfortunately not.  We still appreciate your participation in the challenge. You are a #REVbeast!
