Searching for something yummy to add to your holiday meal? REV’s instructors shared their all-time favorite Thanksgiving recipes...and some might even surprise you!

Sean - Get a Honey baked ham for this man!

Jaime - Not gonna lie, we love our sweets. But not all sweets are created equal! Jaime has a Pumpkin Roll that may just reign over all other desserts! https://www.skinnytaste.com/pumpkin-roll-lightened-up/

Jess - When it comes to Thanksgiving, Jess is ALL ABOUT THE PIES! And she does not discriminate, she will eat anything from pumpkin, apple, pecan to pizza pie, just kidding we’re not eating pizza on Thanksgiving! A pie recipe Jess enjoys is a fresh apple pie: https://www.livewellbakeoften.com/classic-apple-pie/

Noelle - Dessert is a favorite of this barre badass and her favorite is Pumpkin Pie, a total Thanksgiving tradition at many dinners! Her go-to recipe can be found here: https://www.mccormick.com/recipes/dessert/pumpkin-pie-cheesecake

Charlotte - One of her favorite vegetables is Brussels sprouts. And perfect for the holidays is her recipe for roasted Brussels sprouts made with maple syrup and balsamic vinegar reduction, topped with pecans and cranberries to give it that festive look, and, if you're a cheese lover, you can top it with goat cheese.

Darryll - Baked Mac & Cheese is Darryl’s all-time favorite. Her mom makes a mean mac and we found a recipe that we hope lives up to Darryl’s standards: https://damndelicious.net/2019/02/27/baked-mac-and-cheese/

Josh - He calls himself an eater, not a maker and when it comes to Thanksgiving, he wants ALL of the Mac and Cheese! Maybe Darryl will share her recipe with him!

We have a group of Potato lovers here at REV! Pick one or try them all this Thanksgiving!

Kelly - have you ever heard of Cottage Cheese Mashed Potatoes? We hadn’t until Kelly shared her favorite recipe and we can’t wait to try it ourselves! https://www.spoonforkbacon.com/heavenly-mashed-potatoes/

Sam - favorite side: basically all of the traditional ones (Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Stuffing, Corn, Green Beans) all MASHED UP into one pile (consumed as “one side”).. have always loved “mash-ups”

Gabby - Mashed potatoes and gravy can be found on this babe’s plate! Also on that mashed potato and gravy train is Ashlee.

A Gravy recipe you should try out: https://www.inspiredtaste.net/36231/easy-gravy-recipe/

Amanda - Amanda has got a recipe for you! In a large pot bring Yukon Gold potatoes to a boil in a mixture of water and chicken stock and cook for about 20 minutes. Use a ricer to 'mash' the potatoes (don't use a mixer - they might get gummy). Combine with buttermilk, butter, salt and pepper. Voila.

Chelsea - sweet potatoes, but please hold the marshmallows as that is an abomination!

As for Nicole, she likes to top her sweet potatoes with pecans on the top! And so does Jami! She loves those mashed taters w/ the sweet stuff on top like brown sugar, pecans and all! Try out this recipe from the ladies at Tone It Up: https://www.toneitup.com/recipe/sweet-potato-casserole-2/

Ultimately, when it comes to Thanksgiving, it’s all about stuffing, and not just stuffing your face. Jackie has sent us her secret recipe; if you give it a shot, be sure to post and tag her and @revcyclestudio!

Jackie's Thanksgiving Stuffing

10 ounces frozen chopped spinach, thawed

12 ounces plain sausage

1/2 cup butter

1 onion, finely chopped

4-5 celery stalks, diced

8-10 ounces white mushrooms, chopped

3 granny smith apples, peeled, cored and diced

3/4 cup pecans, chopped

1 cup craisins

small bunch of italian parsley finely chopped

1-2 tbsp Bell's Seasoning

1 tbs salt

1 tsp pepper

2 eggs beaten

1-2 bags cubed potato bread (12 ounces each)

1 bag cubed white bread (12 ounces)

32 ounce unsalted chicken broth

Pre-heat oven to 375. Ring out spinach until dry. In a skillet, saute sausage breaking up into pieces. Remove from skillet. In the same skillet melt butter and saute onion and celery until soft. Add mushrooms and cook another 3-4 minutes.

Stir onion mixture into sausage in a large bowl. Add apples, craisins, pecans, parsley, Bell Seasoning, salt and pepper. Add 1/3 of bread cubes and 1/3 of chicken stock. Gently combine, then repeat process until the mixture is moist.

Spoon mixture into a greased casserole dish. Cover and bake at 375 for 45 minutes.

Whether you are about the turkey, veggies or potatoes, you bet you can find a full plate and belly with these REV instructors. So be sure to wear your stretchy pants this Thanksgiving, then work those turkey legs at the studio on Black Friday!
